BIRDS IN PRINT

A Slide Lecture Presentation

Birds have appeared in Artwork since the Prehistoric Age.  Greeks & Romans revered mighty Birds of Prey and the Golden Eagle, establishing a powerful symbol and graphic design that is still used today.  Serious study and scientific depictions of Birds in books and the earliest Field Guides start to appear in the 17th Century.  Join Andy Volpe for a look into the various depictions of Birds as they appear in Print, from the 15th Century to the Modern Age, and a look at the different printing technologies used to produce these graphics, as well as the birds that appear in Andy's own works using some of these ancient, traditional techniques.

This presentation is a work in progress.  Content may not reflect what is listed above due to time constraints.
